From North Shore to the World Stage: Help Support Stella Green
North Shore Boardriders is proud to launch an Australian Sports Foundation fundraising campaign supporting club member Stella Green as she prepares to represent Australia at the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in El Salvador.
Stella earned her place in the Australian team after winning the Under 18 Women’s division at the 2025 Australian Junior Surfing Titles. Her performance secured selection in the Irukandjis, Australia’s national surfing team, alongside 11 of the country’s leading junior surfers.
The World Junior Surfing Championship will be held at La Bocana and El Sunzal in El Salvador from 4–13 September 2026.
A proud moment for North Shore and the Sunshine Coast
Stella began her competitive journey as a young member of North Shore Boardriders and has continued to progress through club, state and national competition.
Her selection is a major achievement for Stella and her family, but it also reflects the strength of the surfing pathway available on the Sunshine Coast.
Surfers including Sophie McCulloch, Keely Andrew, Alister Reginato and many others have grown up surfing the beaches around Maroochydore before progressing to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Stella’s journey is another reminder to the next generation of North Shore surfers that the pathway is real.
The local club round can lead to state competition. State competition can lead to national titles. With commitment, resilience and the right support, those same local beaches can become the starting point for representing Australia on the world stage.
North Shore Boardriders acknowledges the support and opportunities provided throughout Stella’s development by her family, coaches, sponsors, Surfing Queensland, Surfing Australia and the Irukandjis program.
Helping Stella get to El Salvador
While Stella has earned her position in the Australian team, international competition carries significant costs.
The club has established a fundraising campaign through the Australian Sports Foundation to help Stella and her family meet expenses associated with:
international travel;
accommodation;
competition and team costs;
equipment; and
other costs involved in representing Australia overseas.
Every contribution will help reduce the financial burden and allow Stella to focus on preparing and performing at her best.
Donations made through the Australian Sports Foundation are processed through the official campaign platform, with eligible donors receiving an ASF receipt.
Support Stella’s campaign
Stella has done the work and earned the opportunity.
Now the North Shore Boardriders community, the wider Sunshine Coast surfing community and local supporters have the opportunity to help her get there.
